About the event:

The Folly is an independent riverside restaurant beside Folly Bridge, with an AA Rosette for its seasonal modern British cooking and a 2026 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award. Through the winter its White Dome sits on the floating pontoon, enclosed and heated, with the Thames running right alongside. It is also where Lewis Carroll used to set off by rowing boat with Alice Liddell and her sisters, on the trips that gave us Alice in Wonderland.

Your Host will look after the group from the moment you arrive, with introductions over a glass of prosecco before everyone sits down and conversation that moves around the table between courses. Come on your own or with a friend: everyone arrives as a guest, and the point is to leave knowing a few more people in Oxfordshire.

Guests must be 18 or over for this event.

There will be photography and videography at this event. You may notify us when booking if you do not wish to appear in it.

Cancellations: Full refund up to 7 days before the event. Within 7 days, you may choose to transfer your place to a friend and inform us, or we'll offer your seat to our waitlist and refund you if your place gets filled. If your place does not get filled within 7 days of the event, we will not be able to offer you a refund. Full details in our Event Booking Terms and Conditions.

Dietary and accessibility requirements: Please let us know at the time of booking, and no later than 7 days before the event, so we can liaise with the venue to cater for your dietary requirements.

How to get there: The Folly is a short walk from Oxford city centre, straight down St Aldates to Folly Bridge. Westgate car park is the closest large car park, and Oxford’s Park and Ride buses run into the city centre from all directions. Bear in mind the congestion charge.
